ANIMALS & UNCONDITIONAL LOVE: WHAT ANIMALS TEACH US ABOUT LOVE

Author: Morgan Mellick

Animals radiate the consciousness of unconditional love. This is how they connect and communicate with us, on this frequency. That is why you feel accepted and loved for who you are with animals, on another level. The connection is palpable.

Unconditional love is in fact divine consciousness in action. Unconditional love comes from loving in source to the souls knowing, the souls remembrance. There is no ego attached to this kind of love as they are not operating in ego at all. It is a pure loving energy, and this is where animals operate in the world from.

Animals teach us how to be our true selves.

Have you ever watched your animal or another animal and thought to yourself, wow, they are just in the moment playing, acting goofy and being who they are?

I think we all have.

This is because animals radiate truth, truth in who they are and truth in what they do.

This all stems back to what I always talk about which is that animals embody unconditional love for themselves and others.

When an animal unconditionally loves themselves and others, they automatically are their true selves. They are fully authentic. And, they teach us how to be unconditionally authentic through unconditional love.

Animals mirror us. It is called mirroring. They will mirror back to us who we really are. When they show us love and joy, etc. they are often emulating back to us how they feel about us and who they know us to be with the goal to connect us to who we really are.

Animals are connected to a higher power, 5D consciousness, God, the universe (or whatever you prefer to call it). It is through their ability to unconditionally love themselves and others that they are able to connect to these higher faculties.

As it turns out, this higher power and elevated consciousness lives within all of us, animal and human. We can have access to it whenever we want. Wild animals and our animals at home are here to help teach us this on a collective scale. Animals are here with this one collective teaching: to show us how to love ourselves, also known as self love and how to love others.

ANIMALS ARE MASTERS OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS WE CAN LOOK TO OUR ANIMALS AS TEACHERS IN THE MASTERY OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE? HOW CAN WE LEARN FROM THEM?

Get out a piece of paper and write down what comes to you

  • We can look to our animals and just observe without distraction who they are and how their energy feels. For example, observing your animal in play, relaxation and just being is important as this will give you all the information and support that you need to see that you too can embody who you really are and express this to the world, just like your animal. Allow yourself to feel them in your body to have a deeper experience and connection. Ask yourself: How do I feel around my animal? What is their energy like? What is love to me? How does my animal show me love? How do I show my animal love?

  • We can ask our animals to help us learn unconditional love, essentially asking them to teach us this. You can do this by saying for example: ”Fluffy, I know you are here to teach me unconditional love, can you show me what I need to learn?" Pay attention to what they show you and take it in. Think about the experiences you are having in your life asking you to connect back to a place of love, your animal is helping you with this. Ask yourself: What is my animal showing me? What am I learning about unconditional love from my animal? How has my animal loved me through the hard times in my life and what did it feel like? What relationships and experiences in my life feel the most loving and why?

  • Our animals help us to slow down and get present to what is really important in life. The values that they teach us are: love, safety, connection, joy, trust, abundance, freedom and presence. Watch for your animal coming up to you physically and looking into your eyes, sitting with you intentionally and just being with you. Often they are trying to get you to slow down, which allows for an opening for you to get in touch with yourself. Allow them to take you on this journey with them, they know what they are doing as they are masters at this. Ask yourself: When I slow down and get present, what is being shown to me? What is my animal showing me in these moments of presence? How do I spend my time with my animal during these times? What am I learning about slowing down in order to be present in life?

  • Animals support us in any kind of self love practice. This could range from journaling about how you feel daily, gratitude lists, yoga, exercise, time in nature, healing modalities, treating yourself, doing spiritual work, etc. When we love ourselves, we are ourselves. Ask yourself: What does unconditional love mean to me personally? How can I be more unconditionally loving to myself? What areas of my life need improvement here? What is my animal showing me I could do to love myself more? What activities do my animal and I do together in the practice of love?

  • Animals support us in loving others to our greatest capacity. Look to how your animal shows others love and emulate them in action. Ask yourself: How does my animal show others love? How does my animal show tolerance and acceptance of people’s differences? Is there an area of my life in which I am withholding love and why? How can I be more loving to others? What areas of my life need improvement here?

  • Your higher self, divine consciousness, a higher power, God, the universe, etc. (whatever you prefer to call it) already lives within you and all animals. Ask your animal to help you to connect with clarity to this part of yourself. Ask yourself: What is my animal showing me? What am I being shown about a higher power? What does a higher power mean to me? How can I connect with a higher power? What are some action steps I can take to make this connection?
